How tags work #
- Tags describe cross-cutting subjects — features, error families, practices — independently of the category.
- A topic can have up to 5 tags.
- Tags come from a curated Oracle vocabulary maintained by moderators.
Adding tags #
Start typing in the Tags field and choose from the suggestions.
- Aliases: common alternative spellings resolve to the canonical tag automatically.
- Error codes: a tag in an Oracle error-code pattern is created automatically.
- New terms: anything else is sent to moderators as a suggestion. It is not added to your topic as a live tag until a moderator approves it.
- Legacy tags remain visible on older topics and are marked as legacy.
Browsing by tag #
Tags lists the vocabulary with the number of topics you can see. A tag page lists its topics and its description. A link that uses one of a tag's alternative spellings opens the same tag page.
